Departments Computer Science, Zienkiewicz Institute for Modelling, Data and AI
DescriptionMobile robots are able to navigate their environment and are not tethered to a specific area. Autonomous mobile robots (AMR) are capable of exploring uncontrolled environments without the requirement for physical or electromechanical guidance mechanisms. The prevalence of mobile robots has increased in commercial and industrial contexts. For many years, hospitals have utilised autonomous mobile robots to transport goods. Mobile robotic devices have been implemented in warehouses to efficiently transport products from stocking shelves to order fulfilment zones. There are also mobile robots in industrial, military, and security settings. In this project, you will deal with a functional mobile robot by developing a software-hardware integration strategy utilizing built-in sensors, and clever algorithms to accomplish an intelligent task. This project will equip you with the knowledge of how Intelligent AMRs are built to dynamically interact with their environments and be very responsive. After consulting with the supervisor, the exact application can be confirmed.
